"I am sure you know, from our numerous Sunday encounters, how much we are enjoying the Jazz Brunches at Vista del Valle with the Joe Anello Quartet - and how much we appreciate the newsy Mountain Howler publication - filled with great information specific to the western Central Valley which we don't find elsewhere. Keep up the great work!!!" Saludos, Joan and Iain Dewar 9/24/09

"Just finished reading it cover to cover. Great magazine as always! I don't want this magazine to bite the dust, so will get in touch with Jeffeny and see if monthly contributions are possible." Ghislaine Yergeau (Canada) 9/27/09

Blooms
English-speaking women of the Central Valley will be interested in a morning coffee/brunch/chat group that gets together, usually at a member's house, at 9:30 am on the last Tuesday of each month. 'Blooms' (short for Bloom Where You're Planted) meetings are informal but filled with friendship and lots of information as to what's happening around the Western Central Valley. There is no president nor dues, just a monthly email. Currently, members hail from Alajuela, Grecia, Aténas, La Garita, Sarchí, Los Reyes, & La Guácima areas. New members and guests are welcome. San Ramon

Now Open-- Casa Amanecer

A Bed & Breakfast + Sustainable Tourism. Christopher and Luisa have opened the most stylish B&B you may ever stay in. It's an architectural gem that has already been featured in the Costa Rican magazine Su Casa.

Featured in the March 2009 issue of Su Casa, Costa Rica’s premier architecture magazine, Casa Amanecer Bed & Breakfast in San Ramon is just 45 minutes from the San Jose airport, on the way to Monteverde, the Pacific beaches, La Fortuna and Arenal. They offer our guests local organic coffee, herbal teas, fresh mountain air, healthy vegetarian fare and therapeutic massage. They can also help out with your trip itinerary.

Situated in the nearby mountains of San Ramon, this family-owned, four-room, eco-friendly, bed and breakfast is surrounded by rolling hills of shade-grown coffee, sugar cane fields and banana plants. Each room has an incredible view of the mountains to the east.

Owners and former Habitat for Humanity employees Christopher Panzer (USA), Luisa Valdivia (Peru) and their two small children welcome you to their living experiment — enjoying an abundant life while treading lightly on our Earth.
